Anyone know how many are registered for this tournament? Went to www.nwtrails.org and that sections hasn't been updated yet.
Anyone got a line on what you think the presentation will be that wins it? Trolling spinner baits, jigging trees, drifting sand....

I talked to darrell on thursday the number of entries was at 28. I guarantee out won't be won on sand point but I can guarantee it will be somewhere between omaha beach and kingsley dam

With the bite as good as it is, the winning weight should be pretty impressive. Spinnerbaits, spinnerbaits and more spinnerbaits. When the water drops those trees will look like they have been decorated for Christmas.

The tournament is Nebraska Walleye Trail's . Shut up and fish walleye tourney. What a great showing. 57 teams are competing for over $20,000 in cash & prizes and 2 tickets to the Cabela's Nationals. That's pretty good for a lake that surrounded by corn fields and cowboys.
The top weights Saturday were over 22 lb in a five fish limit. Pretty impressive!!. The fish were caught in shallow water Around van's and the castle swimming jigs. Anything can happen Sunday. |

Curious, Where is the castle on Big Mac? Is it east or west of Vans or is it on the north side somewhere? Thanks.

I fished the tourney this weeked. Took 32lbs to win, second was only .02 behind and thir was less than a pound behind them. All the top teams were indeed pulling spinnerbaits over submerged trees. There were a lot of zeroes as there werent many fish caught but when you did it was a good sized fish. The winning team of Green/Green only weighed one fish yesterday but it was a little over 11lbs and good enough to win the tourney.
Mac is an incredible factory for really big 'eyes but they can be tough to catch at times. |
