Or just spend your money on the good ones BIG EYE, or the OTTP baits pretty much the same bait big eye has some better color choices. Good luck theres definateley a learning curve in trollin those big baits.
I think he did make the change to better swivel's from what I can tell. Cabelas has some big ones by Fish Hawk going for $5. Those should work too.

Those fish hawk baits aren't bad baits the heaviest ones i could find were 1oz. other than that the head of the bait was made from the same do-it mold that everyone else used. I also took the trailer hook off to avoid more snags

Cool. I checked those jon boys and the swivel seems pretty lame but what effect is it having? Seems to flutter as good as the terminators I had????

As long as they work and you're comfortable with it thats all that matters. When i was making my own spinnerbaits it was pretty critical to use those bb swivels because at high speeds and very low speeds the blades would not turn especially after extended use. I just woudn't take the chance of getting in the stirke zone of a monster eye and not have the blades spinning . Theres a reason that every spinnerbait manufacuturer uses those ball bearing swivels and its not to save money

Default Gold/ white

It really does not mater how good it rotates in the water or how smooth it turns.
All it needs to be is gold blades (the alewife are memorized by gold ) and the skirts are white or chartreuse
The spinner baits attract the alewife, that attract the walleye . The alewife scatter when the walleye come .All that is left is the spinner bait and the walleye . Guess what the walleye does??

Very true but if your blades don't spin the alewives don't follow simple as that. And they aren't "memorized" by gold its their instinct to travel in schools so they follow because of the flash gold or silver. I've caught just as many walleyes on 5 or 6 inch swim baits. They simply follow anything that looks like an alewife.

Another thing on the "to do list" before I head out. Crap, I'll have to call in sick tomorrow to get it all done. Priorities ya know...

Thanks for bringing it up. No reason to be lazy or cheap when fame and fortune are on the line!
