I have a pair of Penn 620 downriggers with 48" booms. Now that I run dipseys a lot, the extra length gets in the way and I'd prefer shorter ones. If anyone has Penn downriggers with 24" booms and would be interested in going longer, I'd be happy to swap mine even up. Or, if anyone has a set of non-working Penns and would be willing to sell the booms, let me know.

can you cut them to shorten them?
I did that with my Walkers.

It would be a little more than just cutting. The boom is tapered at the base, and has a tapped opening at the far end where the pulley fits in.

Thanks, Brian, cutting them down turned out to be pretty easy, and only cost me $3.69 for the right tap at the hardware store.
