I'm on my second year with my WX2000T, it has a 115 Yamaha with Merten Power steering. Overall I like it very much, love the room and open layout. TON'S of storage, I have about 20 rods in one of the rod lockers, the other I use for storage. I do all my fishing from the back of the boat so I just have a Vantage 80 on the transom. Seems to work just fine, never really wished I had a 101. Top speed is about 39mph with a light load, 3 people and all my gear top speed is 38, fast enough on the lake I fish 90% of the time. I'm still running the stock 17p black stainless prop.
Like I said overall I'm really happy with it. |

Look back I have posted a few times. Been running one for 3 years now and realy love the boat. 115 Yamaha, re propped with a 4 blade and a hydrofoil run 38 tops. Excellent hole shot with the additions. Boat tracks as well as any Ranger, MY buddy owns a 620T with the same motor. His is a bit faster but the skeeter is 9"wider etc... Plenty of room in the boat, plenty of storage. Ride is as dry as the Ranger. Only 2 things I can slightly gripe about. A small amount of extra fit and finish time would be good, caulk job a bit messy etc... Otherwise excellent, and the live well being placed where it is on the port side, wehn back trolling it has a tendency to make noise, needs a baffle to solve this. Had this out is 4' waves on Leech lake and felt safe and no issues with stabbing into waves etc... Back trools better than any boat I have ever used. I have ran or have buddies running Rangers Warrior's and of course Lunds. Go for it you will like it.

This is my third season with my 2009 2000T. I'm running the stock 17p prop and usually run around 38, but have hit 41 mph before. It is a great fishing boat. The 115 Yamaha is a bullet proof motor. It is quiet, trolls forward right around 2 mph, and backtrolls around .5 mph. One thing I never hear anyone talk about is the livewell. I fish tournaments and have never had a fish die in the livewell. The drift sock storage is something unique to Skeeter and it is a great idea. My drift sock gets used almost everytime I'm on the water and its nice to have a separate compartment to put it in so I don't have to get a whole compartment wet. Someone mentioned fit and finish. When I first got my boat, I noticed a few things and thought why couldn't they just have taken a little more time and done this nicer. After fishing out of all the glass tillers now, I realize every manufacturer has something they could have done better (those other boats also cost more). It isn't the best tracking tiller on the market, but a drift sock can correct it. I wish the interior lighting was better in mine, but I think they have gone to LED lights on the newer models. If you ever want a ride or want to fish for a day, let me know.

I kind of like the layout of this boat! I keep thinking I will go to a tiller boat in the future and this could be on the list. Anyone one know if a dealer would hang an Etec on a Skeeter? I would think a 115HO Etec would be pretty sweet on this setup. I know with Merc owning the rights to power steering now that this boat is limited in HP for being a 20 footer. Would be curious to check one out someday??
