Agree, the fact that it wont vent or break loose at any trim setting is a good indication its to low as well.

You think just one will do it? I hope to only do it once, but I thought if I went two, and there were issues I would lower it of course, but if I go one, I will wonder if I should go one more.
![]() Thanks for the replies, it makes it easier to run it past guys that know a thing or two. |

Here is how. If you extend a level off the pad, and measure down to the prop shaft that would work as well. Here is a harder way in picture form. Last edited by Pezman38; 06-25-2012 at 10:01 AM. |

Thanks Pezman38, but I must be missing something, measuring will be easy, but say I get 6" (just making that up) how will that measurement tell me how many holes to raise it?

1. If you are at 6" below the pad, and each hole is .5" you would probably want to do two holes. 5" seems to be about right for deep V glass boats. It is what my boat is at, 2050 reata and my cav plate appears perfect.
2. If you are wrong and you are around 5.5" below, then perhaps 1 hole will bring you up enough. 3. If you know the height today and someone has a similar rig and is willing to measure their's, it would be easier on you. |

Got ya, I do know two guys here have theirs two holes higher, I guess it's a no brainer and maybe I'm overthinking it. I'll raise it two and see what happens.
Thanks everyone, I will let you know how it goes. |

You might need a bit of prop work to make this work out as well. I bumped mine up one hole and can hit the rev limiter just barely now. I might get my props repitched so that I am below the limit. |

I agree two holes ought to do it.
Measuring plate to hull as someone suggested is only a ballpark start. Since you posted pictures of the splash on plane it looks like you know already about that procedure. With the plate not showing at all in the splash, I'm just sure you need two holes up. The videos out there show what the splash ought to look like really well. I followed this procedure myself a year or so ago, and it worked perfectly. I don't recommend the motor raising DIY process I used combining ratchet straps, firewood, the tongue jack, a hydraulic jack, and ear muffs for my wife!! ![]() Wallypedal |

walleyepedal that's too funny! Sounds like a lot of the projects around my house, the "ear muffs for the wife" part.
I'm doing it in 3 hours, I am lucky to have a forklift to use at work here, some good chain and grade 8 bolts. I'm still nervous though. |
