I live in Arkansas now, but lived in Tulsa 50 years. I fished many of the lakes named plus Keystone, Skiatook, and Kaw. I have owned Lowe, Tuffy, and Xpress lake boats. My thoughts on your boat question:

The Alumacraft Navigator 165 I have now would be safe on the windy Oklahoma lakes. If you are concerned about not enough room, move up to the 175. The Lund boats of similar dimension, length and beam, will work equally well. Both are very high quality and are less expensive than glass Rangers and Tritons. Also, they are much cheaper to tow.

Glad to hear it. Other than trying to be cheaper, I looked at the ramps at Canton and compared to ramps out here, they are very bad/primitive. I figured a smaller tin boat would take less damage than a larger glass one. However, I loath wind, so a heavy bay boat style might offer advantages against that.
