I had a chance to put my new HDS 5 Gen 2 with the Navionics Canada Chart to the test for 6 days last week and I am very pleased. One question that I do have is that I noticed when making a trail there would be voids at times but would eventually fill in. Is this normal ? Also what is the prefered method for chart orientation, I seemed to like course up the best of the 3 choices
Thank you for any input, Kipawa |

I've two new HD7s. Will be on the water first time with them in two days. Curious if I get the same.
I always like "course up" when moving, but wish there was a shortcut to "north Up" for working a piece of structure. I get confused when watching the "course up" setting when I'm trying to fish around a particular spot. Then again, it doesn't take a lot to confuse me most days.............. Pooch

Ditto... I also see the trails disappear, then reappear... One of those questions I have not had time to look into yet. Looking forward to a possible answer here.

Gentleman....have you checked the trail update criteria. It is set to auto by default change it to time and then set the desired time.

Most of the time I use course-up Trail up-date set on time at 1 sec. |

Hit menu twice, highlight chart, down to waypoints, trails, choose trail (in blue),press Menu and choose settings and go to time then 1 sec.
I'm giving you this on top of my head but it should be close |

If a section of your trail disappears on your HDS zoom in and they will re-appear, you then zoom out and the trail stays visible.

That trail disapering happend only when using a navionics map. For my part it's not a big deal but it is something that should be correct easily.
