Default Lcx 15mt

Hello,

I purchased a used lowance lcx15mt and I am not getting a gps signal. The unit tells me that the gps is not responding. I have the gps puck plugged in directly to the unit. On the power cable the blue, orange, yellow, and shield wires, where do they go? Is there suppose to be a cable that the puck plugs into and tie into those wires? I have a feeling that I am missing a part.

Thanks for any info.

Thats the NMEA interface for sending GPS info to autopilots, etc

It isnt used for the unit itself

do yourself a favor and download the manual for the unit from the Lowrance website

Thanks Perchjerker,

I had down loaded the manual, now that those wires are for the interface connection, the gps should work anyways with the puck plugged directly into the unit without having to use any of those wires?
I wonder if there is something wrong with the puck?

X-15 gps module gets its power when plugged into the unit ( not from a separate source like the later models). If the blue, orange, ect wires have been connected to something, the unit may have been interfaced to another unit's gps module. That would require it to be set as the "slave" of the two units - it would look to the NMEA wires for GPS signal (not the GPS mudule you have plugged in). Most likely, you will have to go to the menu and set the unit back to accept the GPS module. I can't remember the settings, but you should find it in your manual.

Good fishing,

Keith

I think there's an option in the menus to do a reset to the factory setup. You may give that a shot. I'd think the OEM setup would be looking to the puck for a signal.

Check the menus (actually you can download a 15mt emulator and (simulated) run the unit on your PC). There is also a soft reset (press pages and power buttons) and a hard reboot (press z-in & z-out & power).

I just ran the 15mt emualtor(I have the same unit) the factory reset option is found>hit Menus twice, scroll down to System Setup, hit ENT, scroll down to Reset Options
