you could get by with 5:
double 8 or double 9 double 10 crankbait for grinding rocks spinner bait topwater tail spinner if you want to make a 6 pack, add a side to side aka walk the dog surface lure.

I loaded up with the following for an upcoming muskie trip:
bulldawgs, topraiders (loon and chartreuse), believers, bucktail, spinners. I also saw this guy on ebay and couldnt help pick it up. Should be fun to fish with I picked up a 3 part shallow crankbait too and pulled the trebles off of it. I put only one single hook on the last loop so I can pull this thing through the cabbage with more ease. I think Im really going to love that one. |

Took a pic of the last lure I was talking about with the single hook. The other one is a very noisy shallow rapala.

I just bought one last minute bucktail. I love these things. A lot of people are talking about the value of having a straight black one especially contrasting it with a lighter colored one so you have some good options....

The only sweet tooth I have is for Musky lures. I can never have enough and they are not cheap...
I'm sure you'll see a few more that just have to be in the tackle box...

One thing I like to do is a similar but different pattern to follow up on fish I got follows from.
Double 10 in black/nickle produces a follow I'll come back with orange or white with painted or gold blades. Natural glider gets a smaller or larger glider in a hot color ETC. Always a good idea to have a giant tube, glider, or twitch bait or I like a big esox jig w/giant grub for a throw back to hot followers. |
