I've always understood the mid-range Verados to be a bit fast - 2.5 is about as low as they go. But the 6 cylinder Verados troll down slower. You're the first person I've ever heard say the 6 cylinder Verado only slows down to "3-4" mph. Mine will go more-than-half-slower than that, with a 21 pitch prop.
This was going off of memory - let me check again next time I am on the water. I use my 101 terrova or T8 kicker now for trolling, so it has been a long time since I paid attention to the low end speed.

So y'all don't think a 21 pitch prop will be an issue? I've been reading that most are running a 19 on the 175's.

Depends on boat, my 175 is a 19", but now with raising the motor I could probably run a 21". A light bass boat could maybe turn a 23"?

Give it a try, if your not getting the RPM's you need, 5800 - 6400 WOT, preferably above 6100 with the Verado then try a 19. Make sure you work it our with your dealer that they will swap props for nothing if you don't get what you need out of the one that it comes with. All boat and motor combo's are a little different and everyone's load is different so a 21 on your's may work but others may need a 19 on the same boat. Get it broke in, then start testing and trying different props until you find the one you like the best, might even end up with a 4 blade in the end.

Hard to tell without knowing the boat it's attached to. (edit in - I now see in another post you are getting an 1875) Since you asked about the 200 too, is the boat you have rated up to a 200 and you have a 175? If that is correct, and you have the desire for slow trolling speeds, and you do not currently own either prop - I would lean toward trying the 19 pitch prop.

Thought I would also mention, a friend of mine that is also a guide - and has the 175 and 200 Verado's over the past couple of years, has told me when he wants to go slower than a forward troll will accomplish, he trolls in reverse and is able to accomplish the speeds he desires without any other speed reducing devices. He was empahtic that trolling in reverse had no downsides, and reduced his speeds. I have not tried the same to comment, and I have a significantly different boat/motor.

Lake Wisconsin - I would be interested in hearing back if your speeds are that high. If I had a Terrova, I would be using it too!

*19p seems to be the best from my experience with other 175 and 200 V-rods.
It is also what Lund recommends on that boat/motor combo.

Personally I like a Tempest Plus over a LazerII

I currently have a 21p Laser, and those speeds are SOG. I run around 6100 rpms WOT. Been thinking of going to a 19p to get around the 6300 mark.

Moose,

Put a 101 Terrova on it and you will handle any speed you want. Flat water and Terrova will probably push 2.8 to 3 mph. Use the big motor for anything faster.

I run a 21 Tempest and I really wish I would have stayed with the 19 Tempest that came with the rig.

Thanks for all the info...

I decided to go ahead and throw on a 9.9 Pro kicker. With all the trolling I do it just made sense. With that on the back and a Terrova up front, the Pro V should be dialed in for all trolling duties.

Now just to take delivery and get some time on the water before the weekend. With the temps in the mid to upper 90's, I'm beginning to wonder about this tournament anyway... Melting and heat stroke don't thrill me. But a new Pro V sure does!!!
