Wigwam Resorts Fishing Report for June 28, 2012. High winds earlier this week prevented even our launches from going very far out into the big lake. Fortunately lots of walleyes and saugers are still around Pine Island. Pulling spinners with night crawlers had more action than being anchored and jigging with a minnow. The action is really good but you might have to weed thru the smaller fish first. The weather for the rest of the weekend will be in the mid 80’s with winds 9 to 19 mph. Fishing will be great on the big lake in 26’ to 31’ feet, as well as Knight, Bridges, and Oak Island and all points in between! If you need more information about Lake of the Woods fishing call the Wigwam Resort at 800-448-9260.

Thanks for the report. I always enjoy my trips to Lake of the Woods. Have fished the river in the fall, near The Gap in the late spring, and all the way out in the summer. Also have fished there in the winter,,we took the Sno-Bears about a half hour out and caught fish all day. Would really like to get up there for the spring bite sometime.

Thanks again.

Best Fishes,

Bob Jensen

Default Lake of the Woods Fishing Report

Wigwam Resort’s Fishing Report for Lake of the Woods for July 5, 2012. After the big storm yesterday and more wind today the lake is a little stirred up, but the fishing continues to be outstanding in the same areas as last week. Fishing will be great on the big lake in 26’ to 31’ feet, as well as Knight, Bridges, and Oak Island and all points in between! We are still pulling spinners with night crawlers, pink and white blades have been popular. Some boats have started down rigging and some are still jigging with frozen shiners too. If you need more information about Lake of the Woods fishing call the Wigwam Resort at 800-448-9260.
