Angler,
You could ask Ranger who the vendor was for the coupler, so that if necessary, you could go directly to the vendor for replacement parts. But the idea of changing the entire unit to a new one is an excellent choice as well. By the way, if you go to an on line source for the new coupler, you likely save lots of $$$$$$$$ than going through your Ranger dealer. REW |

Ranger's price was very competitive, and besides that, the replacement could be custom built specifically to replace the old unit without installer alteration (hopefully), so I think it just made sense to buy from Ranger to save dealing with the unexpected once I have it in hand. Thank you, REW Live Long and Prosper!

The new unit is a complete swing away tongue. It took longer to get it out of the box than to install it. Now I have to find someone to loan me one of those cool one man brake bleeder thingies. Otherwise, I need another set of hands to help me bleed the brakes.

Buy yourself a cheap vacuum pump. Makes bleeding brakes a very very easy one man job!! Im not sure where i bought mine but i went and looked and i payed $10.95 for it a couple years ago. It is a Mityvac brand. WWW.mityvac.com MV8020 brake bleeding kit. It also can be used to check many other things. You just open the bleeder screw and slip a hose over it and suck the fluid threw. Just make sure to keep the master cylinder full. I use it to change out all the brake fluid every fall so there is`nt any moister in the system. No moister, no rusted and stuck calipers!! Wiredog

I got a pneumatic bleeder from Harbor Freight that connected to my air compressor. I had to add an air line filter but that was something I needed to do anyway. The new fluid fill bottle required a little engineering and fabrication in order to adapt to the actuator. With all that it was a three hour job but it turned out well. Until I get to the part where a quart of break fluid was $9.00....
@#$%^&*(#@$As usual, it was an easier job with WC help. Thanks everybody
