Default Hummingbird 998C

Anyone else having issues with their 998C. Mine is brand new this year and it keeps freezing on me. It will work fine most of the time but it will freeze sometimes when loading, sometimes when shutting down, and sometimes right in the middle of use.
I unhook the power cord from the back of the unit and turn it back on and it is like it never happened.

It is wired correctly and I don't see any corupt waypoints.

I am at a loss....I am trying to limp through the next month because of tournament fishing and a trip to Ontario, but after that I am sending it in to the company.

Anyone else experiencing anything similar or have any suggestions or in sight?

Is it tied to another unit, via ethernet cable? If so, disconnect for now..

I would save all your waypoints to a sd card, then delete them from the unit..., reset the defaults, and reload a lesser software version, then load the current software version..

The more you can do to diagnose the trigger, the better off you will be..

Thanks for the response. It is not connected to any other unit.

I did delete and reload all waypoints already. I used hummingbird software to look for corupt waypoints. I found one that had a date of like 2062 - very strange.

I got rid of it and reloaded all my waypoints that appeared to be okay.

Still have the same issue. I had the issue with the old software version, as well as the new.

At a loss at this point - I just I hope I can limp thru the season.

Take your cords out of the cable collector and manually plug them in and try that.. (keep all the collector parts) lol..

Is the voltage of your battery ok?

I know these are somewhat elementary options, but youve got to start from the beginning.

Did you try the unit before you reloaded your waypoints?
