Ok here goes, I hear about resale value all the time on a Ranger. My question is how much more is my 2005 1850 worth over the NADA low mid and high range? I dont want to over or under price, I have seached for prices of other 2005 1850 or newer, cant find at all. Thanks for any help

I would start with 0$ and then look at local conditions to see if local conditions dictate any change from the 0$ value.
We live in a market economic system. So, your boat, motor combo is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay cash to you for that rig. The way to find the value of the rig is to price it very high and then drop the price by a fixed amount each week, until you start getting some calls. When one of these calls turn into a sale, you will know for sure what the rig is worth. I rig is NOT worth what somebody puts a price tag on the rig for. The rig is worth what someone is willing to pay cash to you for. REW Last edited by REW; 07-01-2012 at 12:21 PM. |

If there are 100 very interested and cash capable buyers in your market looking for YOUR boat, your boat is worth much much more than if there are 0 interested and cash capable buyers in your market looking for your boat.

If you can't find many for sale then that should tell you all you need to know. They don't last long. I'd price it at the high end of what you think it's worth and adjust from there if you don't get any takers.

The reatas only changed a bit in 08 with the dash. These are high demand boats and I would compare the, with other 1850s based on condition rather than year and with what is mounted on them. Obviously a terrova and hds are going to get you a bit more than some of the original accessories.
I have a 2005 1850 too, and I wouldn't list it at less than 23k. I have no idea what blue book price is but I keep my eye on Craigslist and they dont last more than a few days under 25. The classifieds on this site will also bear that price too. So look at regional comps more so than the price guides. |

There are a few on here who will tell you about the great deal they stole their Ranger for, blah, blah, blah. As said, looking at the recent deals I wouldn't price it under 25 grand right now. They are selling well and the new ones are a lot more. I am sure the dealer won't give you anywhere near that on trade so get your money out of it.

No one ask what condition it is in. You need to also price it for the condition of the boat. If it is a little beat up then price it this way or you will be spinning your wheels. If it is good condition with the average electronics for an 05 then final sale would be between 22-23,500 I would think. You could list it for 25,000 OBO and see where you end up. Good luck.

I looked at NADA last year on my Reata and you needed to add a value for the motor and trailer to get a package price. Now, the price includes a motor up to 175 hp and the trailer. With this change and one year my average retail price dropped over nine thousand dollars
