Default Suffix Advanced leadcore...

Anyone here using the new Suffix advanced leadcore? I've been reading reports on other boards and people are very happy with it. Lots of claims of better sensitivity and best of all much deeper depths. People are claiming 8' per color at speeds around 2mph.

If these reports are true a guy can probably get away with 5 colors for just about any situation. Becasue it has a much smaller diameter much smaller reels can be used which is huge for me. I cant stand feeling like I have a deep sea reel in my hand when I am walleye fishing.

It's the real deal.

I've been getting closer to 7 feet per color, but that's probably because I tend to run a super short leader in most of the situations I fish core.

I took one full core and split it between two 27 series reels. It is definitely a treat to not have a big salmon reel in hand while fishing core. Makes hand-holding the rod and working the bait with snaps and drops much less tiring than with traditional core. Maybe they'll start selling half cores so that the color patterns can be consistent when running 5 colors per reel.

How much backing are you able to get behind the 1/2 core? I'm picking up a 27 tomorrow and plan on spooling it with the Suffix 18lb.

Are you getting the 7 ft per @ 2mph?

I'm not running much backing. A few passes over the spool.

Yes, the 7 ft per color estimate is at ~ 2-2+ mph.

One more question. Is the 7' per color just the depth the lead is acheiving or is that the total depth of your lure? I was planning on running a 30' floro leader and then running the lead. Do I need to account for the depth of my lure with 30' of line out and then add 7' per color?

How slow are you going to get 7' per 10yds? That's more of the depth that one gets with copper wire, not lead core.

Do some research on the new Suffix ADVANCED leadcore. It has a 832 gore outer shell instead of nylon and is WAY thinner then traditional leadcore. People are claiming 7'-8' of depth per color at 2+ MPH.

By the way make sure you dont confuse this with Suffix "performance" leadcore. The "advanced" leadcore is new.

Default Interesting

Anybody else experiencing these kinds of depths? I just spooled up a couple of rods with 5 colors thinking I would be getting 5 ft per color. I would be happy to get 7. I have 12 ft mono leaders if that makes a difference.
