Alright, I will throw myself into the ring as well. To be fair, I love my Lund. But, I have had many many issues with all four seats as well as the pedestals. I have an '05 Fisherman, and all seats are upgraded air ride.
Problems:
1. Seats stuck into platforms in floor
2. Only one air ride truly works anymore
3. Pedestals rock back and forth, not tight in receiver in floor
4. All seats squeak. Very annoying when fishing rough water
5. Wont lock into position anymore
(Keep in mind I am 240lbs, father is 220. I have no idea if were just too hard on the seats or what)

With this being said, I have had zero other issues with the boat. I have been wondering myself lately if brands like Ranger, Warrior, or Triton make better seats? Never fished in one, but I am very interested to know!

Default Lund

I guess I've been lucky. I bought my 2006 Mr. Pike, new in 2007. It had some problems early on with some minor things and had a problem with both Yamaha motors but the dealer I had was absolutely great. What people say about getting a good dealer is so true. My dealer is a couple hours away so don't go any more then I have to, but they do know fishing boats. If your ever up Michigan way the Sports Fisherman Center in Muskegon is great.

Sadly, Lund's quality has been slowly going downhill the last few years. They're not what they used to be.

It seems like the biggest complaint on the Lunds are the seats and pedestals. I too have had to replace my seats and pedestals over time. Most of them I believe are a result of people trying to use them as a recliner!!!! To be fair, I believe the seats are Attwood Centric or or Centric SAS seats depending on the model. The pedestals are either Springfield or Swivel Eze depending on the year purchased. Are the problems a result Lund's manufacturing??? I can't fault Lund for the seats on the boat but maybe they need to look for a different supplier.

I have looked at several new Alumacraft and they seem to have the same seat/pedestal combo. What about other brands? Ranger, Skeeter etc. Does anyone know what they have for seats and pedestals.

When you get your "new" boat be sure to be just as critical. Post when the light is not plugged in and be sure to have a few 250 or 300 lb guys ride in the seat over some rough water to test them out. Be sure to post how the seats make out, I know they will be perfect, and the air ride keeping a 300 lb guy "floating: will be amazing. Don't overlook anything, post all issues just as dilligently as you do now. Don't forget to let us know how the new dealer works out too.

Just a bit extreme don't you think? The amount of money that new boats cost these days one should have the right to expect better than what he got. I do not care who you buy a boat from all of them can have issues like this...if it is bad enough to make you feel compelled to tell your story like this guy is doing people should listen not be a jerk. I take it you must be a fan of Lunds, which is fine. Lunds are a great boat (most of the time), my father ran them for years before switching to Warrior. The last lund (1850 tyee) was a giant POS, it had problems from the get go, lots of them. It didnt take away the fact that the previous 5 or 6 boats had been great. It happens...to everyone who builds boats. I feel for the guy, as should you because you never know when it will be your turn.

I've had better luck contacting the OEM manufacturers for parts if it's not Lund exclusive.

I've received great service from Attwood for seat issues and Marine Master trailers for trailer parts/issues, and UFP for "The Vault" hybrid oil bearings/hubs. I have only had to pay for the parts when they were obviously damaged due to use.

It takes the dealer one month to get part numbers and pricing.

It takes me five minutes to make a phone call and about a week to receive what I need from the manufacturer.

All I want is for people to be honest and truthfull. My point is to insist that when this guy has issues (if he does, and he will) with his new unit to be just as dilligent in posting them. He is warning people regarding lunds, will his new post warn agains his new boat??? As far as replying on you comment that I am a jerk, you would have to be more clear so I can reply correctly

Well i hope that when he gets a new boat he doesn't have to endure more of the same. Yes, all boats will have some issues, but usually not to the extent to drive one to let out their frustrations in such a public manner.
