I have recently purchased a boat which has opened up my fishing opportunities greatly! From another thread of mine I learned that Lake Monroe has good walleye fishing. What other lakes in the north/central region of Indiana are good for walleyes??
Thank you!! Andy |

Brookville over by Cincinnati has the best population IMHO. It's about 90 minutes east of Indianapolis.

According to the IN DNR, Winona and Sylvan have the largest walleye populations per acre than any other lakes in Indiana, with Winona getting the nod for most legal sized fish per acre. Just an fyi........

Trust me on this pass on Sylvan! Yes lots and lots of walleyes but almost all are shorts. We had a tourney there recently and all I will say is number of legal fish and weights brought in was extremely disappointing.

2nd that on Brookville being the better walleye lake. The May/June bite is phenomenal at times. Monroe has a good population of really healthy fish. Lake of the Woods & Winona have some nice eyes in them also. Summit & Prairie Creek are two really good walleye lakes that can really produce some large fish.

Maxi can be tough but is an awesome lake! Very clean water but there is limited parking. Another lake to try is Bass lake by Knox. I live about a half hour away and fish it frequently.

No one has mentioned Patoka. Patoka has a good load of walleyes now and their growth rates look to be very good..
