Default Ranger trailer hubs

I have a 2007 ranger trailer on a 2007 1860.. Bought it used. Third owner. Have tried to check the bearings........... but the torque that is required to spin the hubs off make me believe that I'll break the plastic hubs. Anybody have any exprience with these hubs. Do they come off counter clockwise? Or do they come straight off the hub? I'm in a quandry. Thanks in advance. Kramer

Yeah, I was in the same boat when I pulled off my cool huns. You are sure that plastic is going to break.

What did I do, bought a replacement cap and went at it with a pipe wrench. The plastic is stronger than you think. They can be a bit hard to find locally, but get a cap, in case, and go at it.

You're almost to the point where it will screw off. Righty tighty, lefty loosey...
