Question Net (not internet !) advice needed

My rubber walleye net is too shallow for the pike we caught on our trip the last 2 weeks in Canada.

I have a large Stowmaster Muskie net that is the right size, but the treble hooks get fouled in it really bad. We had doubles on & had just took one pike outta the net (lure was still in there hook fouled) when we had to net the 2nd fish.........What a mess !!

Does anyone make a good large (deep style) rubber net we can use on the pike ?

We had one that almost didn't get in the boat using the walleye net........it was too long & we ended up using gloves & the boat towel to get it in the boat.

Any advise on a good dual purpose rubber net would be appreciated !

Going back up in a month & need to find one before we go.

Thanks in advance !

invest in a rubber coated "hook free" net.
i use one and so do the guys i fish with, one of them has a net that is nearly 15 years old that still doesnt snag hooks

I've got a Beckman in a larger size and it's been fantastic. No hook issues whatsoever so far and I've had it for 3 years or so. Once the coating starts to go I'll just get another bag to replace the old one on the same hoop. Here's the one I use and I've landed pike up to 38" in it.

Smile northern pike net

most of the fly in places my group and I go use cradles for pike, vs. nets.....pretty simple to make, two pieces of wood and netting.......much less stressful on the fish, doesn't flop around, etc, and much easier to get the hook out...

The best thing you can do is to get rid of any rubber nets in your boat.

Take the rubber bag off of your hoop and put on a nice flat bottom - heavily coated standard style bag.

It will work wonderfully well for you.

Default Nets

I agree with REW...get a flat-bottom rubber-coated mesh net.

http://www.egos2slider.com/ Check out the egos2slider nets and handles and you can "custom" design the net that works best for you.
