Unhappy Help needed & a Warning !

My daughter used some Purel hand cleaner on her hands on our trip this past week to Canada.

Some spilled off her hands & on the dash of my Lund & dribbled on the dash & glove box door.

That stuff pulled the paint off the plastic (vinyl ?) dash & glove box door like paint stripper !!

I now have a ugly white stain on my dash & glove box that looks like (bird Poop) except its the plastic dash with the color removed. It makes my dash look really bad & I'm not happy !

Any way to contact Lund directly for some Vinyl paint to fix this ?

Thanks for any help on this you can give me.

Fish

Fish,
Another possible situation would be to use the hand cleaner on the entire dash and make the entire dash the same color:

There is no paint involved. I am not familiar with the product, but it sounds like what it did was bleach the dash material... which is molded - same color all the way through.
I'm guessing the console cap and door will have to be replaced for everything to be the same color.

Bummer...but, that's what insurance is for, I guess.

Default Vinyl?

If its vinyl , most auto interior shops that do vinyl repair can fix it . I've dyed numerous vinyl parts such as door panels and they come out great. I think duplicolor makes vinyl dye in spray cans. You need to prep the old stuff properly mask and shot if you DIY!

Fish_Heads, It was probably the alcohol in the sanitizer. If you dont want to do the vinyl/plastic re-dye your self there are companies out there like Creative Colors Inc which have franchises all over the USA. They specialize in vinyl/leather/plastic repair versus replacement. I didn't catch if you were in the states at all but that may be an option for you. My sister owns one of the franchises in Arizona and the main corporate head quarters is in Illinois. Here is a link to their locations. http://www.creativecolorsintl.com/locations.html

My problem was not purel but over spray from bug spray the whole dash was spotted and fish finder. I was sick over it and I tryed lots of things and what finally worked was penetrating oil and elbow grease dash is now fine but plastic on fish finder is still spotted no spraying bug spray in boat again stay down wind and spray in hand and rub on. Don't know if this will work for you but worth the try.

It was probably the alcohol in the sanitizer.

It's no wonder my boat is all white with all the beer that's been spilled in my boat.
