You need one of the listed Humminbirds 1198, 998, 898, 798. You put your Lakemaster Contour card in the Humminbird sonar unit. Then the trolling motor and the I-Pilot Link remote runs the rest.

Is this a add on to the existing Ipilot? Do I just but the new remote or a new Terrova Ipilot Link all in one?

It seems to be a new complete I-Pilot. I guess if you have an old I-Pilot, this unit would replace it.

ICAST is this week. Once the official information embargo is lifted, I'll be able to share a lot of information on this exciting new product!

Unfortunately this product currently has no value to those in the North East. I suppose Lakemaster/Johnson doesn't believe there is anyone fishing out here? Too bad too because their competitions maps are either highly inaccurate or just overlayed DEC contour (10ft) maps on to their card. Would be easy money for them! Yup, still have to fish the old fashioned way out here in NY LOL.

Once we can start talking about it openly, I think you'll find that there will be a significant number of uses for the new system, even in areas that have yet to be mapped by LakeMaster.

Having said that, LakeMaster is expanding its reach all over the country, and if your favorite lakes have yet to be surveyed by LakeMaster, it's likely just a matter of time until they are.

Also, if you want to ensure that your favorite bodies of water are on LakeMaster's "radar screen", be sure to add them to the list using the user "request a lake" system found on this page:

To me, unless someone else can convince me different, this will be more up the alley of us 'eye fisherman than the 360 on a talon, but those are
just my thoughts.
Quastj - I highly disagree with the 360 discounting. For softwater, well, yes. But this darn 360 thing is going to be a big bite out of my pocket for Ice season. Doggone quad is getting as much in electronics as my boat!

Ah, hardwater, yeah, I could see the benifit, but for softwater, to me anyway, it was like...eh...nice, but not a nessesity. I'm going to be curious on how, those of us who have a 1198 at the con, will work this without running back and forth....I'm one who, no matter how much the motor may be doing ALL the work, still would like to see what's going on in front of me and yet still work out of the bow rather than have stuff behind me and need to yo yo back and forth.

I have the 1198SI and I have a Terrova with Ipilot, so I should just need the new Ipilot handheld unit?
I just know that'll be cheap...

Also will I have to use a lakemaster chip in the 1198 or will a navonics (sp?) work or can I use it with out any chip??

I figured this was coming, but I figured they'd milk the basic unit as long as they could.

I'll wait and see the cost versus what I get, as I don't use the track feature at all, and I have no reason to keep spot locks logged with the waypoint feature of the HB, but it does look promising..

Al...who just spent a $149 on a navonics chip...figures
