I am curious about what all of you see with new Mercury riggings. I believe the 150 Mercury four stroke was installed at Lund on my Pro-V. There is a black, tubular mesh that houses the steering and other mechanicals from the gear shift back to the engine. Well, the question is regarding the way the black mesh was never really solid in the collar on the engine. There is a black collar that receives this mesh and is the entrance to the engine for the cables. When I picked up the boat, the mesh was not into the collar and I pointed this out. The dealer simply jammed the mesh into the collar and shrugged his shoulders. So, should this mesh be into the collar solid or continuously out of the collar. Thanks for your opinions.

I also have a 2012 150 vrod and the setup looks very similar to xswab, but without the tape.

I tapped mine off (like yours) as you tilt the motor it rubs on the toothed washer and wore a hole in the mesh - did not want it to rub thru wires......change it yearly, no issues on mine since 2006

I always understood the collar is left loose So you can install the transducer then tighten down the pre-installed zip tie.
