Default Chevy Cruze

I am seriously considering this vehicle in either the Eco trim or the LT1. Anybody got one and how do you like it?

I've been a GM buyer for 30 years because Dad retired from Chevy and I could get the discount. Dad passed away and I recently went to buy a Cruze but found out I no longer qualified for the discount.

I looked at a Cruze and drove one for a couple of days, liked it, but didn't like the idea of paying $995 for an auto trans plus a couple $K more to get it with the same options as a base Honda Civic. The best the Chevy dealer would do is $21K for an Eco with auto and the Honda dealer dropped $2K off sticker dropping it to $17,500, plus 0.9% financing. Honda averages 34 mpg city and 42-43 hwy, about the same as the Cruze.

I liked the cars about the same and was ready to get the Cruze (before I discoverd the discount was gone)but I'm not willing to put an extra $3,500 in the pockets of Gov't Motors.

We love our ECO Cruz. It is a vehicle we would buy again. ECO is stick and you can still get some nice options. For most og out highway driving we see 50 mpg. In town we usually are never below 36 mpg average.

Don't know if LT1 is standard or auto and was not on our consideration list.

We have has the car since last fall and have over 10k miles on it.

Shoot, I already pulled the trigger and am picking it up at 4:30 this afternoon. I will keep you in mind for next time! Thanks for the input guys, I think it is going to be what I was looking for. I got the Eco in the automatic. Not as good MPG as the stick but my wife will have to drive it occasionally. Thanks again!

They are nice cars, my wife has one. I'm 6'2" and I have plenty of legroom to drive, just don't expect to "cruze" around with 4 people in it - not near as comfy then. Gets good mileage and has pretty good acceleration also. Enjoy it.

We just bought recently. We really liked the cruze, but they wanted thousands more for less options and warranty. We couldn't justify it. We did like the car a lot though.

Well, I am impressed so far. Took it on a trip yesterday and it got just over 50mpg highway. After all the in-town driving it dropped to 42. It is a blast to drive and fits my three kids in back no problem. It has a pretty good array of options and is the ECO in the automatic. I have never had a car where the MPG estimates were low---WAY LOW. I did check the computer and it was slightly high but not by much. I am impressed.

Rich, have you calculated the MPG by actual gallons of gas for miles driven? Those computers lie. A person has to do the math by hand to get an accurate calculation.
