My 2009 F-250 started to squeal at low rpms after a long run. Is this same squeal as the F-150's? Grease? Bearings?

AH yes....the infamous Yamaha 'squeal'.....lots of generic internet posts on the topic....it is apparently a bearing that heats up after a long run at high RPM's....I have a 2004 Yamaha 90 tiller....and buddies have the same.....all the same result.
Apparently, nothing to resolve and nothing seriously wrong based on my research. Outside of the squeal....bullet proof motors and very satisified. I like to reference it as a motor that is 'whining' to go MORE!

Yamaha makes a special grease for this and it seems to work ok. I will post the part number later. |

I've got it on my new 2012 F60. I wonder if they cover it under warranty?

The squeal sounds like a belt whinning!

The grease is for the upper drive shaft bushing and the Yamaha part # 90790-74046 and is called Grease WR No.2 |

I had mine out again yesterday. The squeal comes after running full throttle and then slowing down to 2500 rpm's. It stops right after I get below 2500 rpm's. My motor is a 2012 manufactured in March 2011.

Talked with yamaha tech today. Grease as mentioned above is solution but lubricating oil like crc2 sprayed on drive shaft will work its way down for temp fix until you can remove lower unit and grease
