I've had one for several years but have forgotten the length choices. One thing that's important is you do not want the brushes to touch the ground.....that will kick up rocks. When your boat is hooked up and your truck is loaded the hitch will be lower than it is now. Try to duplicate that and then measure.....then choose a length that will leave the brush 2 - 3 inches off the ground.

Just call Towtector (1-800-784-4331), and ask them which one to order. Towtector will ask you to describe your vehicle and based on your answer they will tell you which one to order.

I bought my Towtector in 2007 and I think it's a very good product.

I used their online chart and it worked perfectly. It is available here:

I used this as well, hook up your boat, throw some stuff in the back to simulate going on a trip and follow the instructions. Key is for them never to touch the ground, error on the short side rather than the long side.

I have an 04 F150 FX4 Supercab and got the 16" double brush version. My boat has a fair amount of tongue weight but it ended up perfect. I don't hit gravel too often but on my Devils Lake trip we had many miles on gravel and not a single rock chip on the boat or trailer. Easy to mount and effective. Won't tow a decent boat without it.
