Default Reef Runners ...

I am new to fishing Lake Erie and from what I've been told Reef Runners are effective on Lake Erie ..? I'm looking for some color suggestions .. I was planning on getting 8-10 of both the deep Little Ripper (600) and the larger (800) series ... any help would be appreciated

Anything with a purple back and either clear or chrome sides, bare naked, blue back/clear sides. I don't feel like looking up all the official names but 90% of my crank caught fish out of Erie the last few years have been on a purple or blue backed reef runner.

THose are all great colors. I don't run them much except early spring and late fall but i'd never leave the dock without plain ol' mooneye minnow and pink lemonade.

To the original poster, you may want to consider the 800 series reefrunners as well as an assortment of ripsticks for when the fish are up real high.

Default Pippers

I LOVE my Reef Runner Rippers, short and long nose. They are my go to lure. I always have a hard time choosing a color but on my recent to trip to Rainy my Wonder Bread ripper with the black head yielded quite a few eyes trolling, good luck.

I just picked up 4 last week (Thursday) from www.greatlakestackleshop.com which is here in Erie at the main shop Alex Roofing. They had a bunch of them and just got a shipment in. Green flash they were out of and they said that was a tough one, but the rep who owns buckets charters here in Erie if from Pittsburgh and they get supplies quick. I imagine they will be stocked this week because the E.P.S.F.A. summer slam tournement is this weekend.
A bunch of us don't buy from Poor Richards anymore since Gary doesn't support & give the discount for membership to SONS or Steelhead club. With that discount it was about the same as the other places, now he's a bit high and it's cheaper and closer for me to go to other places like Fisherie or great Lakes.
