Default rod holder installation help?

Can anybody tell me the best method to install down East rod holders on a Lund Pro v that has the wide gunwales?

I have a boat with similar wide gunnels and I went with the Bert's custom tackle track system. You mount the track on the gunnel then the holders slide into the track. That way when you're not using the rod holders only the track is on your gunnel. This combo of Bert's and Salty is bullet proof... very strong.

I wouldn't think those two are compatible. what brand of down East holders do you have that sled in? The clamp style I imagine wouldn't fit

Cisco track mounts is what I used on my Pro V, no drilling, no holes, no screws or bolts in the gunwales. The Cisco unit allows you to sldie the rod holders anywhere that you need them located. Just about any make of rod holder can be mounted on the Cisco products.

I imagine you have to screw in the track? Do your Salty's clamp on to the track? Does anybody have any pics they could upload? Thanks for the replies guys

No screws needed, that is the beauty of the Cisco units. Go to their website and you can see pictures of the track mounts. I'll try to post some in the next day or two.

There is a bracket that slides in the track and the salty's screw onto the bracket. For mounting salty's this is the best option I've seen where they are not permanently mounted to your gunnel.

Here's a link to a photo of my setup.

Thanks for the pick Ben. Would much rather not have permanent bracket sitting on gunwale if possible and the cisco with the lund pro track looks slick with no holes. Your running an alumacraft by the looks of your carpeted gunwale?

Yep, Alumacraft.

Either way, as long as you've got a salty then you've got the best rod holder for musky fishing!
