Truth is China is the prosperous mega star and they have CLEAN air and water? Like I said, anything for a buck. Your kind is the reason we have massive air and water problems. That will be your legacy.

By coincidence, this post came up yesterday about Alaska and I saw the news last night about one of the world's largest copper, nickel and platinum reserves discovered in Ely, MN.

Here is a thought for everyone against oil drilling, mining, etc. Stop driving, stop using petroleum fuel, stop using electricity.

Zuckerburg - stole the idea for Facebook
Gates - stole MS-DOS
Trump - fronted with his daddy's money and contacts
Buffet - modern day scorndrel

Default Bristol Bay

rbsangler - Problem is "if" they release tailings water into salmon rich waters its gone an will not come back with a band aid cleaning.
Do we really want clean air and water like in China?
Eriksat - this is a copper, minerial mine, not a oil/natural gas operation.

I realize this is WC and not salmon central but Bristol Bay is worth
preserving. I truly hope "you" an families get to experience it.

There are risks involved with maintaining our lifestyles.

The word hypocrite comes to mind when I read about guys living in climate controlled houses driving 4 WD trucks pulling fishing boats with 150 HP motors so they can catch a few pounds of walleye on the weekend, all the while whining about a new mine or oil well 3,000 miles away.

Overall, the air and water in this country are cleaner today than they've been in the past 100 years. There have been and will be accidents; its one of the risks we've collectively accepted to live the way we do.

Copper is used in almost all electronics and wiring. If you don't like copper and want to live in a cave with candle light great. It really doesn't matter where they want a mine the do gooders have some reason not to want it. We have the same stuff going on in WI from the Ladysmith mine.

If that is all that anyone can take away from my point, I am through with them. they cannot be reached, it's over for them, they have made up their mind. The idea that we have "massive" air and water problems is simply not factual.....at all, but believe as you choose.

As i pondered your response, I would think, and it would be my opinion that......your legacy will be cowardice, indecision, and acceptance of whatever a PBS documentary filmmaker influences you to think. MY legacy will involve Thought, bravery, confidence, more thought, courage and common sense.
