I have always maxed out my previous Rangers and Lunds so I was suprised that the dealer was telling me that I do not need it.
Thanks for all of the good info so far. I am torn between a few boats so just gathering info. RVRDUX |

I have an '08 ProV 1800 with a 150 Verado. Good hole shot and top end of 50 mph with some load in the boat. Not sure how the 1800 compared to the 1875. My gut would say go with the 175.

Not sure if you're looking at buying this summer/fall, but I noticed last spring at the boat shows that Lund was offering the next size up Merc as a purchase incentive. Basically, you got a 175 Verado for the price as a 150 Verado. I'm not sure how long they've done this, but if you're on the fence and aren't in a hurry, next spring you could end up with a 175 or 200 depending on what you want to spend (if they offer it again).

Ok,here you go. I have a 1875 Pro V with Yamaha F 150. No problems. Running a 19 pitch prop. Good hole shot, and top end about 46 to 48 depending on how I'm loaeded. 46 with 3 guys and gear. Had 98 1775 Pro v with same engine. This new IPS hull runs awsome and alot more out of the water than the old lund hull desighn.
I don't have any more advise than that. The reason I went this way was because I thought the boat was only rated for 175. I had looked at so many boats and all the dealers that had these boats never had them rigged above a 175. I love Yamaha and they don't make a 175. It's 150 or 200 in the 4 stroke dept. Not sure about 2 stroke. I might of optted to the 200 if I would of known. But I am very happy with the performance of this boat. I guess if your going to fish tournements, and top end is a must. I would max it out. Other wise the boat works great with a 150. Good luck, Rod Last edited by Fish4ever; 07-29-2012 at 04:31 AM. |
