Default 2 ducers off transom

I am wanting to rig a third locator off one of the back corners or our boat for when I am back there using the transom mount trolling motor.

Question is.....Can I mount 2 ducers by each other without them interfering? I know I can mount 2 ducers and turn one off so they will not interfere with each other.

I have a HDS-7 at the console and have a spare 334c and was hoping I could use that with out adding another transducer but I am not sure. I know I could shut the hds 7 sonar off while I want to use the 334 and vise versa but right now that sounds like to much of a pain to switch everytime I want to move.

Could I mount the ducer on the trolling motor and be out of zone for interfering with the hds7 or will it not matter. The ducer for the hds7 is on the driver side of the boat as I have a kicker on the other side.

My other option is to buy/find a cheap hds 5 or 7 and mount it back there and run a ethernet cable to the 2 units and run both locators off the ducer that is already mounted.

Does anyone know if the ELITE-5 has a ethernet port that i could hook up the hds7 to and run the elite 5 off the 7 ducer and mount the 334c for GPS only?

Hopefully this all makes sense I am just trying to get by with what I have but If I need to buy a HDS-5 or 7 to make it work with the ethernet cable and not have to mount another ducer then I will go that route!

Thanks
Joe

Thank you. I figured that would be the easiest route to go but did not know. Looks like I will try to find a cheap head unit for a hds 5 or 7 since I have extra accessories for them.

Thanks again

I have 2 Lowrance units in my Lund. I mounted both transducers about 6 inches apart. One unit is set at 200 and the other is set at 50. I have had no interference for 2 years now. Just lucky, I guess......
