Depends which ad is in front of you. The direct inject 2 strokes are as good and lots of times better than the 4 stroke equivalents. It also depends on driving habits, boat type etc.

The one being run at peak torque instead of peak horsepower. Usually that's about 2/3 of the max rpm rating.

lets go 250 HP what motor would get the best milage/ecomomy considering all other factors being equal

All other factors equal, like he said. so all the boats weigh the same and have the same hull. now what do you say?
