Default Anyone adapt a Trollmaster to an older motor?

Curious, if anyone has adapted one of the Trollmaster units to an older kicker motor.

I have a pro3 on my early 90s 2 stroke merc. Bought the unit as old stock from cabelas but still had to pay full price. I think theycan adapt them to just about any unit, might have to give them a call or drop them an email.

I thought the same thing.
Lucky for me they made one for my T8.
I bet you can make them work.
It's just a rod and other things you should be able
to get at a well suppled hardware store.

It depends on how old of a motor and if it is a two stroke or a four stroke on a four stroke your just operating the carb butterfly with the servo on a two stroke when you turn the throttle on some your also turning a timing plate under the flywheel if you had a heavy enough servo and a descant mounting point for the servo to throttle assembly it could be done , i gave up on trying to put one on a 85 evinrude 10 hp because of the problems mentioned above and i have been involved with radio control for years and just wasnt able to make one work the way i wanted

See part of the problem is that I don't know that kinda thing. I'm learning SLOWLY about outboards.....
Likely my idea was to pickup an older 6hp, or 9.9HP OMC and then was wondering if I would be able to adapt one of these systems to it.

if you can easily move the carb throttle plate linkage by hand then you should be able to make it work

Then you would have to adapt or make a bracket and linkage. No offense, but it doesnt really sound like thats in your skill set.

I made my own trollmaster from scratch using parts from a hobby shop and made my own bracket and linkage. But I am good at that type of thing

Like perchjerker said, if you can easily move the throttle on a 2-stroke and that changes running speed, you can operate it with a Trollmaster. The Trollmaster on my '97 2-stroke Mariner moves the throttle plate and works very well.
