If I may suggest taking a look at bassfan.com and the way they report tourny info. They do a interview with the winner that talks about what they found was working prefish (like what type of structure & presentation was working). Then they break down each day of the tourney with the winner as well. Then they write about the winning gear. Usually it's just a chance for the person to talk about the gear they use. I hope this doesn't come off as bashing. But I just felt like this whole year after I read a article about a tourney. I felt like I needed or wanted more info.
I agree and you are not bashing. Just stating facts. Unfortunately, his articles could be written from home with the details provided. There is no information in his articles. They are all the same. State the weather, who won, and a pinch of other general statements that tell us nothing about what is actually happening. I asked Pete if he wanted to join us for a day on the water so he had some info and he declined. I also asked if he needed any info on whats going on for an article and he said he had all he needed but thanks for offering.

Very lacking in the meat of the story. No info on tactics, techniques, baits, locations. There was opportunity for many good stories at this event. Joint event, 160 teams, 3rd tournament in a row on this water, things anglers do to keep cool, the donation of the fish to local charities, which teams traveled the farthest(texas?), what effect on the water level dropping had, no interviews of any teams or anglers.

Not saying I could do better but these are the things anglers want to know about and have come to expect from WC. The generalities and generic stories are pushing me to other places to find meaningful info.

I am just very happy to have someone cover the event with the leader board. Can not follow it any other place. Thanks for being there. What an awesome tourney with 160 boats and over 80,000 in money paid out.

It was a great time and fun to meet the other teams. Everyone was very professional and generous. Even around the cabins people talked like they had been friends forever. We found our fish a little shallower 27ft. Had no problems catching slots and boated 40-60 fish a day. All of our fish were very lively when we threw them back and many fisherman were talking about how everyone was making an effort to bring them up very slowly. Tournament was run great, class act! Hope to go back next year

Don't mean to hijack your thread on the coverage of the tourney, but I would like to say what a great opportunity we had on Oahe! The way i figure it, we had the opportunity to fish what I would consider 3 major tournaments for the travel cost of one! I for one would like to thank the powers to be with the fishing crew, the MWC, And the regional guys for making this one of the most professional ran set of tournaments I have been apart of! It was ran as well as the NTC and That still amazes me how they can run a tournament with that many teams run so smoothly! Thanks to all for being opened minded enough to listen to the possibilities of linking the MWC, And the regional together I think it worked out great for both sides! Thanks to Mike Dorris for his input and determination to make it happen! And to those who was mean and hateful to us when we suggested the possibilities of such a thing, I THUMB MY NOSE TO YOU! LETS DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!

Totally agree. Great event! It was fun to have lots of boats at one event.

The Fishng Crew staff, would like to thank all the teams who took the time to come to Lake Oahe. WOW!!! 160 teams in the first event. We have been contacted and asked if we would consider running the event next year. We would be "HONERED" to have the oppertunity to work with the best group of fishermen I my self have ever worked with, you guys and gals made are job easy. Hope to see all of you next year on Lake Oahe Pierre SD.
