Default Minn Kota Maxxum fuse question

Maybe this should go in the "you know you are an idiot" thread, but I cannot find the fuse in the head of my Maxxum 101. Anyone know where it is and what it looks like? Thanks.

no such thing as a dumb question, only dumb answers. So, what makes you think there's a fuse under the head?

Unless 80 MaxxumPro is different from 101 Maxxum. My 80 don't have a Fuse in the head the last time I opened it.

Because I am getting interference on my Humminbird and one of the solutions I read about was to check the fuse in the head where the wiring is. Is there no fuse, or is there one elsewhere? Thanks.

And it is a Maxxum Pro 101.

The only fuse I'm aware of is more than likely a breaker mounted right next to the battery. I'm not aware of one in the head unit, but I've never had it apart either.

Default head fuse

If there is a fuse in the head, if it is bad, your motor would not work. So my question is, what would a fuse have to do with inteference if it is a good fuse and replacing it with another good fuse?

Thanks Burr. The breakers you refer to are there and fine, so there must not be any other fuse. I did open the top and no fuse, so not my solution. Just so no one posts all the other solutions for interference, I have tried them all with no resolution, so I will just live with it. Bottom line shows right depth but numerical readout flashes all sorts of wierd depths. Llike I just wrote, I can easily live with it. Thanks to all and good fishing.

undguy,
Reading thru postings about this, guys are mentioning that there's a fuse/fusible link on a ground wire, that if blown, may lead to interference.

If nobody here can confirm if it exists, and it's location, you may need to take it to a repair shop and let them find it.

That must be what is being referred to. If anyone can help with location, I would appreciate it very much.

I sent my MaxxumPro80US (2006) for Warranty transducer, the autorizedminnkota center told me he will "ground" it for me at the same time. He mentioned about my batch of Maxxum have that problem so grounding might help. Call their Service center.
