Don't know what Dakota's lakes you fish, but the Lake Insight HD 2012 has:
Bitter Lake
Cattail Lake
Enemy Swim Lake
Kampeska Lake
Kettle Lake
Lake Oahe
Lake Sharpe
Lynn Lake
Pickerel Lake
Roy Lake
Thompson Lake
Waubay Lake
in South Dakota in High Def, and in North Dakota has:
Devil's Lake
Lake Oahe

in High Def! There are tons of other lakes in both Dakota's that are either Shoreline Only, or Standard Def (1-3 ft contours), and if you'll check the link I gave you'll be able to determine to what degree of def is offered for the lakes you fish!

yeah Hawk... I hear yah... I checked it out and plan on returning to my local Scheel's store here and returning the Pro2012 for the HD2012.... sounds like that was the one I should have gotten first, but trusted the sales guy up there and he did not know or maybe that is all they had being he said they JUST received them.

I only have the option of selecting Navionics or Lowrance on the setup and even if I throw the chip in and select either--- nothing works.
I have software version 1.1.39.39 in my Gen2HDS8 with MN Version 7 chip & ND LPDAKCO608 chip. They all work great.
