Default spinner baits and lead core

Anyone have any idea on how spinner baits will react with suffix lead core 27#... I use the lead core precision book and run tail dancers/ shad raps, etc.... gonna try the Booyah's now once with leadcore over trees but curious how far off these will run according to any crankbaits. try it and see I guess and have a box full of Booyah's....

I use suffix 18lb but didn't really know exactly how far down I was. My best guess was 65ft put the spinnerbait at 10ft down, 80ft was 15ft down, 95ft was 20ft down with 15 feet of 15lb flouro leader going 2mph. Just as the Parsons and Kavajecz figured. But I experimented a lot and found at least for me depth wasn't as big of an issue as just banging those branches with the bait. We have had baits 55ft all the way to 85ft back over the same trees and all caught fish as long as they were smacking branches.

Here is what I have found to be a ROUGH starting point w/18# leadcore and 1 to 1 1/2 oz. baits @ 2mph-

Take your lead length, add a decimal, and go times 2.

65 ft. = 6.5x2=13 ft

100ft = 10.0x2=20 ft.

With the 1.5 oz baits they often run a foot deeper and with 3/4 oz. baits they run a foot or two shallower. Once again, just starting points, start short and go from there.

Booyah spinners have big blades and run shallower than others like the Strike Kings. They also pull much harder. I really don't like them for trolling.
The spinner's blade has a profound effect on how deep they run when trolled with lead. I use the Bass Pro Shops series and try to stick with them so that I have better depth control. The Strike King Depth raiders run deeper at 2mph than any other I've tried of comparable weight. If we're trolling over trees that are really deep, I use those.

Check out big eye spinner baits. They are made from where it all started and specifically for trolling for eyes.

Default Leadcore and spinnerbaits.

Depending on what size of spinnerbaits your using. We use 2.5 oz for depths over 20 ft most of the time. The 2.5 oz dives 6 ft per color on 27lb leadcore at 2 mph with a #6 blade. Smaller one dive around 5ft per color of lead depending on blade size.

We use 10ft fireline leaders in either 6/14 or 8/20
