Well, I can't offer too much advice...only personal experience. My wife didn't think the whole boat thing was a great idea from a money standpoint either...that was until a day in April. After she landed two twelve pounders she didn't even think there was a problem with paying a taxidermy bill lol. Look at that smile....she hasn't said a word since.

Just to let everybody know I will be going to Mille Lacs this weekend. After further thought and letting my wife cool off I decided to go besides work has been slow and with as cheap as this trip is this might be my only chance to go on a trip this year. I know I may pay for it later and might miss her when I'm gone....ooh I think I got another bite!!! Wish me luck.

Seriously, what wife would kick having the guy out of her hair for 3 days for $50????

I've got 26 years in tomorrow, and I think my wife'd pay somebody $50 to to have the house to herself for a couple days.

If it truly is a sqawk over the money to equip the boat, I think you've got problems no fishing forum is EVER going to be able to solve. Remeber, you're preaching to the chior here, my friend.

Also, to those that suggest taking her with..What the He** are you guys thinking? This fella sounds like he's miserable at home. If you're gonna be miserable if you bring her, why bother. If you can't go without her, may as well stay home and both be miserable and save the gas money.

Sounds like dumping the boat, giving her the check for the bank account and tying the apron strings a little tighter is the answer. Bet ya don't bowl, bow hunt, rifle hunt, ice fish, pheasant hunt, grouse hunt, duck hunt, fly fish, go to Canada or drink a beer with buds now and again anymore either. Heck of a life. The bank account is full, the experience and enjoyment accounts haven't seen a deposit in years.....Sounds like a serious accounting error to me.

Good luck to ya.
Man you are good with words , wish I could write like that.

should ask him if she has a good paying job and health insurance

how many men stay married because it is cheaper or easier?

i have a unfinished basement that is full of tools , dirt , and dust wife does not go there ( works for me)

My motto as well and I've never even been married.

Present girl friend I set straight after about six months. Told her what's mine before I met her is still mine, she shouldn't even mention me selling anything and I spend X amount of time doing the things I enjoy and she should never complain about it. If she wants to come along, great. If not, than don't say anything.

Raised a fuss at first, but ever since than has been pretty well behaved.

Go fishing, if she wants to argue with you just explain to her that fishing is a male thing....she wouldn't understand.
