I have an LCX27 that works just fine for about three or four hours, at which time it starts displaying increasing fuzziness on the bottom in 30 to 40 feet of water. It starts with just a little on the bottom and gradually grows upward to cover the bottom ten to fifteen feet of water. I've tried turning it off for a while. When I move into shallower water, say 15 to 20 feet, it doesn't display this. Anyone else experience this or have any ideas on what could be causing this? The unit is 7 years old and has had extensive use. Lowrance won't service units over five years old. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm hoping the unit is not just wearing out.

possibly the transducer is going bad.
Mine did but it did not act like that. But they do not last forever.
