I'm having trouble marking fish on my HB 788ci when my Lowrance mark-5x is clearly showing walleye and bait balls on Lake Erie. I did just replace my 788 transducer due to damage, but it gives temp, depth, but the marks are very faint and some on the 5x don't show on the 788. I've tinkered with the 788 to wits end. Can someone suggest some basic settings for 50' of water so I can mark the walleye that I've been catching? I'm an boat electronics idiot apparently...

On your switchfire setting are you on clear mode or max mode.

You aren't running both at the same time are you? You can get interference if both transducers are using the same frequency.

You need to be set in Max Mode when fishing that deep.

My faint or missing fish mark problem exists with or without the Lowrance running. I will set switchfire to max as suggested. Thannks. I'm looking for suggestions on all the settings available that affect visibility of marks.
