Default Stratos 1760dv, thoughts?

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. I am a bass fisherman for the most part but am eyeing a multi-species boat, so I thought I'd post here to see if there were any angler reviews of it. I'm looking at a new leftover Stratos 1760dv. Anyone here have any experience with this boat?

I am looking to make the step up from my 1990 alumicraft lunker dlx into a glass boat. I fish a lot of tourneys, but always as a co-angler. I live on lake Champlain and am trying to get a boat that will handle the lake in somewhat rougher water. I understand that the 1760 is only 17 feet and is not build for 6 foot waves, but I would think that the deep V of the 1760 would handle rougher water better than a comparably sized bass boat.

The one I'm looking at only has an etec 90. I'd love to max it out with a 115, but being a leftover, I think I can get it for a really good price, one that may be to good to pass on... There isn't a ton of info on these boats online so I'm just looking for some honest reviews from people who have actually owned or run them. Same standard questions, speed, dryness of ride, comfort, storage, livewells and so on...? Thanks in advance.

Ben

Nyben,
Lots of very happy folks with this boat and this motor.

For the conditions where you want to use the boat, you will be much happier with this boat than with your current boat.

Certainly bigger and more power is a good combination for big water, but as long as you use good judgement, you will have many many happy hours fishing from this particular rig.

Thanks REW. Truth be told I rarely fish from my boat for the exact reason that it is too small on Champlain for most days. Even a seeming calm day can become rough quickly and I won't risk it, especially with my daughter fishing with me. So... I want to step up. I like the price point on these, especially on this new leftover. If I'm not going to upgrade the 90 to the 115 then I do think I'm going to upgrade the 12v PD v2 to the 24v and likely to the 80lb Terrova with IPilot, and good electronics. I primarily fish deeper water smallmouth and I think this boat with that setup will suit my needs. Thanks again for the response!
