Default iPilot auto deploy

Has anybody heard anything about Minnkota adding the auto deploy and auto retract feature to the ipilots?

And if so, what the timeframe will be.

Wonder how much more unaffordable they will be for me if they do.

Didn't they do this several years ago and then discontinued it because no one bought it??

It's been several years, but they had the Minn Kota Genesis which was an auto deploy/stow with trim and also had auto pilot! It was out for something like 3 years but they had so many repairs etc that they discontinued it! While it'd be nice if they came out with something similar again with IPilot, that'd be sweet as long as it didn't have all the problems associated with the Genesis!

I ask the question because, I believe, the ipilot and the Genises have the same type shaft. (The groove running from top to bottom)

Just Wondering

The Genesis had a much larger shaft than the Terrova or Power Drive. ( "I-Pilot is an add-on to those models)
I heard through the grapevine that Minn Kota is working on a new model with auto stow-deploy......heard from the same person that told me a few things about the I-Pilot Link 4 months ago.

I wondered if they would make an auto-deploy trolling motor after running and gunning all day yesterday! It got a little annoying running back and forth to stow and deploy the trolling motor every 10-15 minutes! I would worry about it auto-deploying by itself when you're running full out down the lake? That wouldn't turn out good..

I still run a genesis and absolutely love the trolling motor. I hope they do come out with this, then I will have enough of a reason to upgrade.
