I think they're roto-molded plastic but not sure....same exact console as yours. It's hard to see the flex but it's there and when you have a big long Ram mount just a little bit makes for lots of movement at the end.

Sure would like to see the Lund engineers 'start using their engineering education' and redesign the consoles to handle the large graphs. I venture to guess that may be the number one complaint from customers. How many of you find the gauges, ie speed and rpm (since these are the largest) need to be visable and viewed on a constant basis? Probably none; you invariably use the graph to check your speed, and with NEMA and ethernet connections engine functions are also shown on graph. If your engine starts having a hiccup, then you might look to the gauges. But even to the average boater, gauges are merely window dressing 95% of the time.

Anyway.........The console isn't as much to blame as the placement of the windshields. They could be set just a little further forward and be a little wider and the entire issue would be mute. But they would have to redesign the windshield center piece and covers. VERY short sightedness on engineering at Lund....just plain dumb!

Well, ordered up the 1198 this morning. Guess we'll have to see how it sits on the dash this weekend.
