I understand your arguement over pro-am vs team format, I still think here in MN a bigger entry fee/pay-out no matter what the format will draw more boats.

As stated tournies like Leech lake chamber tourny, mwc, flw, old wavewacker - all draw big crowds because of big payout.

If the mtt, full throttle or any of the other 2000 low entry fee tournies went to pro-am format, I dont think their numbers would increase, but if they up'ed their entry fees i think numbers would go up. Its hard to drive from se mn to bigstone for a chance at $900

Let me ask you guys this.

You fish a 3 event circuit and win ZERO money. how much is the most you will spend to fish all 3? all gas, all hotel, all meals, all entry fee. Do not include tackle but include minnows and crawlers and leachs and pole cats or what ever them dam things are over there.

Finish this sentance.

"I did not cash a check and i am_______ in the hole for having fished this circuit". Does it make you pucker, or where is the pucker factor.

Guys that will only fish one or two, no need to answer.

"I did not cash a check and i am__2550_____ in the hole for having fished this circuit". Does it make you pucker, or where is the pucker factor.

This is about what the mwc would have cost me last year and again this year for 3 events if no checks 2550 a year

entry 325
gas 200
lodge 200
bait 50
food 75 each event

Pucker no...... Cant wait to do it again!!! Wife puckers when the entry fee hits the mailbox

I guess I probably spend $7,000 a year fishing between the events I do and fun fishing anyways, so I guess that would be my answer. I think there are alot of guys out there that are looking for something to fish that will pay out something pretty decent, but without the commitment of a tour level event, and something without any fear of cheating.

This is what I seen in wisconsin. when we went from 150 at 3500 for the win, to 300 and 7000 for the win, is you needed another day off from work and a team as there was now more money on the line and the teams formed as well. at 150 guys showed up to prefish thursday and friday. at 300 they showed on tuesday.

To each his own. These are just my opinions. If I am taking 3 days off work I might as well take 5, fish the tour and incure the extra 3k. The payoffs are worth it if you win.

A entry level and a midrange tour would be the best.

entry level, 1 day event on sunday, 2 days prefish 150 entry

midlevel, 2 days tourny and 3 days prefish and 500 entry

the tour, 3 day event, 7 days pre fish and 1250 entry

I believe arguing the team format is out of the question.....How can you get a tour level experience with another pro fishing partner in your boat...Why should the FLW try to do what MWC has been doing for years? Figure out a respectable payout, pick out a good bunch of lakes for the states that have done well in the past (MN/WI), and go for it...also what the AIM does with trying to visit a certain lake during an annual celebration in the nearest cities or towns is an awesome idea. While some small derbys are still thriving, most are still suffering...Id love to try it out if the schedule worked with me, and I could form a group to work with.
