Default Trailer bearings

I bought a 1973 Sea Ray last night with what I think is a EZ Loader trailer. On the Cert of Registration the make is "EZLO". Where can I get replacement parts?
On the way home last night about 10 miles from the house the left trailer wheel came rolling by. Not sure if the owner had the tire off and didn't tighten lugs or what. But I would like to replace baers while looking things over.

I would call EZ Loader http://estore.ezloader.com/contactus.asp with your VIN # from the trailer title, and ask them.

You picked a fine time to leave me front wheel, over the guardrail and into the field! Sung to Kenny Roger's "Lucille"

I don't think you need to go to the manufacturer for bearings and seals. Any auto store should have them.

True, but believe it or not I called Karavan when I replaced mine and got EVERYTHING including both castle nuts for $32. I had a outer bearing fail and paid close to $16 for one bearing at oriely. Sometimes you're better off calling the manufacturer of the trailer...

Ron, too bad we can't attach a 10 second .wav file on these posts!

Default which way does race face?

Ok I have the boat in the garage and replacing wheel bearings. Which way does the race face? Looks like the front faces out so you can drop bearing right in. Is this the way the back is or does the bear go in first then the face?

Looking at the outer bearing part of the hub, the wider part faces you. Looking at the inner bearing, the wider part also faces you also. When the races are installed, they should taper to the inside of the hub. I hope you know how to pack a bearing with grease properly?

Thanks Shellback.
I had the dealer I bought the bearings from also pack them, He had a cool little tool to fill (pack) them.
After some thought the bearing/race locations came to me, I just never had to replace them before and the 1st time you start double guessing yourself. Must have done it right, just returned from the lake (90 miles round trip) and everthing seemed fine.
Thanks for your help.
