Default tiller

Heres something iv'e been wondering
What does the 2010 pro guide have over the alaskan (by the way yours is very nice)

Other than cosmetics will the pro guide out perform the alaskan in rough water?
Is the hull deeper
I know the hp rating higher if equipped right
But really whats would it do that your alaskan won't?

Main differences that Pro Guide has are: 25" transom on Pro Guide; twin plated hull for front half; about 300 pounds more weight; center rod storage ; much bigger max hp; and carpet. I have the Alaskan 2000 tiller with a 90 hp Honda, and have never felt the need for a higher transom, even though I do a lot of back trolling, and sometimes into some pretty big waves. I like the relative light weight of the Alaskan, don't like going real fast, and like saving money, so the Alaskan was the right choice for me. Plus the single vs the tandem trailer saves on tow weight. The Pro Guide 2010 is an awesome boat though.

Does this invalidate the warranty?

The pro guide has a different layout with the center rod storage, rear live well, electronics command center, upgraded livewell etc. I think the pro guide would out perform the alsakan in rough water and the hull is deeper as well.
When I ordered the Alaskan I owned an outfitting business and the Alaskan was a better fit for us over the pro guide. The new owners took possession of the business a week after I took delivery of the new boat but I kept the Alaskan and it's been getting used almost daily.

Who cares? It's a piece of vinyl covered plywood and I don't anticipate a warranty claim on it.

Thumbs up Looks Good

Nice, I like it. Question? How did you reinforce the seat bases under the floor?
I've been told Lund won't install extra bases and what you did looks good. That is if strong enough.
I would like extra bases too if I order one.
My buddies 20' Lund Alaskan he loves, but he will be the first to tell you it needs a 25" transom for serious backtrolling. On Mille Lacs, I've seen how much water he takes on even with Wave Wackers when back trolling and I agree with him.

Good looking rig.

The center floor piece pulls up in about 1 1/2 minutes with a cordless drill so you can see were the can and can't install extra bases. Use aluminum sheet 16 gauge to reinforce. I have to disagree on the taller transom comment from my 350 hrs in the boat this year. The top of the transom may even be further from the water then my old pro v with a verado. I get no more water in the boat bactrolling then I did with my Pro V or Warrior tiller, besides that would just make it harder to see around the outboard when back trolling.
