Default trollmaster remote...

I had a new trollmaster put in this summer... I am looking to move the remote above the console so its next to my graph.... Right now it jsut comes out below the console and angs by my feet than I set it on the dash when using it.... I see that the control has a nut on the bottom but I am not sure if its hard wired in, I dont want to start turnign the nut and tear all the wiring.. Just looking to take the remote off so I can navigate the wiring through the dash...ANy input?

I pulled the back off my remote and as far as I could tell, it IS hardwired. ie.: The control cable running back to the servo is soldered to the control board inside the remote. Removing the nut is only removing the stress relief connection.

If memory serves, the control cable is a three conductor. Along with the two conductor power cable gives you a total of five. I see no reason why you couldn't cut and splice both to ease the cable running through the console.

I used a small Ram mount, mounted to the Lund Sport Trak system in my Pro-V. I used the T/M a few times and found carrying the remote to be cumbersome. If I had a tiller model kicker, I may have chosen a different route. Since mine is connected to my main engine for steering, thus the hard point mount near the helm. I'll be trying this remote location out on Monday (weather permitting)

Ordered this for my Trollmaster with a Ram mount. They call it a Plastic Universal Finger Grip Clamping Cradle. Kinda hidden down in the bottom corner of the pic but it's sturdy and holds the remote nicely. Works great. Infinitely adjustable and you can take the Trollmaster out of it if you like. Ordered the IPod Nano cradle and mount at same time also.

They must have changed their setup. I have a trollmaster pro 3 that is about 3 years old and the cable just plugs into a socket on the bottom of the remote. I just remove the cable and store the remote in the glove box when not in use.

Got mine last summer. Hard wired again. I really like the looks of the RAM mount.

Those RAM mounts are a great idea! I don't know why I never thought of thinking of that lol.

I'll have that setup on the boat before it hits the water this spring. Thanks for the idea guys.

Default mount

I have a Starcraft Fishmaster and I had made a bracket and mounted it with my Lowrance HDS-7
no interference problems what so ever , and i would never own a kicker without a trollmaster EVER
