which dealer is closer to home? Equinox has timing chains and not belts. yes they have chain issues but the 4 cylinder is easy to work on and they have 100000 mile warranty that is transferable. BTW GMs warranty covers a lot more than one would think...hubs, u joints, alternator, throttle body, ect all under the 5 yr 100 k. Not a fan of either but I'd get the equinox.

Give me a break please,,Im in the car business and you can trade or sell that car at any time,,PERIOD,,Unless you paid to much for it.Sounds like a Hyundai sales person on here to me,,Or someone trying to make Ford look bad,,,

Ask Hyundai to bring their price down below the Equinox and you're golden.

Compare the two models with Consumer Reports ratings, particularly reliability ratings if you plan to keep for a while. Careful with brand new models until bugs are shaken out.

A jap dealer was MORE than willing to take my american made F150 off my hands when I wanted to buy a nissan from him... Not taking a nice trade in car is a good way to lose a customer because the guy down the street WILL take that car in on trade... Last edited by Pezman38; 08-22-2012 at 08:07 AM. Let me clarify a little...first of all I am not a hyundai dealer....and second they said they knew about all the issues with the ford sync with my touch and the issues with the dual clutch automatic transmission so any trade amount they would offer would just make me mad so they would not make one and it would be better for me to just try to sell it outright and yes after 8 months of dealing with this POS I know I paid way to much.

I have two Hyundais, a 2002 XG350 and a 2011 Sonata (lease). Daughter needed a car so she got the older one and we leased a new one. A lot of car for the money. The two things I don't care for are the resale, which might be getting better as more people purchase them, and the metal they use. Had a new subframe put in because of rust under warranty. The body starts to rust after their seven year paint protection warranty. I take very good care of my vehicles, so I was a little depressed about that, but I still feel they are of good value!
