Default bullheads in their bellys?

I was reading sum stuff some biologist did on Lake Thompson here in SD. he was having black bullheads as the highest percentile of forage in walleye stomachs examined... Now in your experience is this just a one time of year (young of the year) or have you found this year around or anythoughts on this?

That's quite well known around here on the Miss by the Flathead guys. I've even bought willow cats just for that purpose.

Default They like 'em. . .

I guess that's why I've never complained about fishing lakes that seem to have an overabundance of bullheads. My reading tells me that they are preferred forage for about every predator that swims in North American waters.

I scooped up a double handful of 2" Bullheads out of a school when I was a kid. My hands felt like they were on fire for a couple hours. The little guys had sharp spines.
