Default Transducer pictures

Will some of you post pics of your transducer install? I have tried many different heights and angles on my trophy. I still am getting a good amount of spray that soaks the motor and rear jump seat. I am not sure what is messed up.

Glad you asked. I am having the same issue on my Lund. Everytime I raise it to eliminate the "rooster tail" I loose graph at higher speeds. I suppose every boat is different with varying hull designs.

Here is my mounting for you to see. I have a small rooster tail, but nothing that soaks the inside of the boat. I don't even try and get rid of it because of the quality screen shots I get. I would rather have good images than not have a rooster tail.

I would be happy with a small rooster tail. Mine sprays straight up. I adjusted again today and will try tomorrow. Thanks for the pic.

Why not post a picture of your install?

If it shoots straight up, then you have too much tilt down on the xducer.. these are not high speed skimmers like the old days.. Water needs to wash the face of the ducer, not scrub it.

Use a 4 foot level and make sure it planes with the bottom of the boat to begin with, then adjust the angle up from there. Typically a boat will not plane with the bow down, it will be up slightly, or up a considerable amount. You need to take the ride angle in account when adjusting the attitude ot the ducer..

Here is my installation on a 1750 Crestliner TS. It throws a little water up and out as the wash bounces back, but not bad. My biggest gripe with it, is that it sprays water up on the motor that I have to wipe down every trip, but thats the price you pay for high speed imaging..
