Default Rapala scale not accurate

So i just got the bright idea to weigh my new born daughter, in a basket and rope, she just turned 3 weeks and wanted to see how much she was gaining, Well, she weighed only 7.12 on the new Rapala digital scale, We just had her weighed and she is 9 lbs a couple of days ago, I know she hasn't lost a pound, if anything gained, Is has bee fairly accurate on my fish like usually 1 ounce out. What are some of the best scales out there???

Do yourself a favor and throw all of your digital scales in the garbage, no legitimate organization validates the use of digital scales. Get yourself some decent Chatillion scales and you will get consistant results.

I have one of the rapala digital scales. We use it to weigh our fish throughout the tournaments... It has always been within 1 oz of our final tourney weight so I think they are pretty good...

Well maybe I was just a bit too blunt and should explain..........

All I can say is that I have gone throught the years using Normark, Berkley and also Rapala digital scales and they all give me different results when I weigh the same things. I used the Normark for years and assumed it was correct. I was given a Berkley as a gift and that is when I first noticed the differences. So at that point, I purchased a Rapala to help me justify which one was correct, but at that point none of the numbers matched. I purchased a Chatillon scale which I can get certified annually, and I have never looked back.

Agreeded, but for those of us who don't tourny fish the digitals work just fine, an oz one way or the other is nowhere near as far off as the weight as the story gets told a few times...

One fishing club I belong to makes them available to its members, that is where I got mine. Here is the link to their website:
